POLICE probing the suspicious death of a young dad at a North house have called for a man they wish to interview to turn himself in.

Police in the back alley at Chilton

A murder-style investigation was set in motion after the body of Neil Paul Jones, 28, was found in a house in Chilton, near Spennymoor, County Durham.

Detectives trying to piece together what happened to Mr Jones, who has a four-year-old-child, were last night continuing house-to-house enquiries,

The grim discovery was made late on Thursday, where police believe the dad-of-one had been involved in a fight.

Police were alerted after paramedics were called to the property in West Chilton Terrace at around midnight and found the body lying in a room on the ground floor.

All attempts to revive Mr Jones, who lives in Bedfordshire but has relatives in the South Durham area, failed.

Three men and a woman – aged between 24 and 31 – who had been in the house at the time, have been questioned by police and released on bail.

However, police are stepping up their hunt for a fourth man who they believe was in the house at the time of the incident.
