GLASTONBURY is heading North today.
But residents living in the area don’t need to worry about loud music and disruption - the whole event will be silent.
Inspired by a similar event at the legendary music festival, The Brandling Arms, in Gosforth, Newcastle, is holding an outdoor silent disco this bank holiday weekend.
Revellers will be issued with headphones when they arrive for the event, and then have the choice of two DJs performing at the pub to tune and dance to.
Assistant manager at the pub Jessica White said that those taking part would be in for an unusual experience.
She said: “We are saying that it is Glastonbury coming to Gosforth.
“We have got an outside area but we are not allowed to play music under the terms of our licence.
“An idea that kept coming up was the silent disco. One of the people here had been to Glastonbury and she said that it was really surreal but good fun, so that is where the idea came from.
