“The left-hand side passenger window had all shattered but the black tint of the glass held it together.
“When we cleared it up there was glass all over the place and we couldn’t find any kind of pellet because there was so much mess.
“Police have dismissed it and are trying to say it was a stone which flicked up off the road, but there’s no way a chipping would have caused so much damage and I’m adamant it was a gunshot or a missile.
“I think it’s very sad that people can take enjoyment from doing these things.
“Is it going to take someone being maimed or killed before the police do anything?”
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “Officers spoke with the driver who suggested that the damage may have been caused by a stone coming up from the road.
“No object was found within the limousine and there were no persons in the vicinity at the time of the incident.
“As there was no indication that a crime had taken place there was no further police involvement.”
