“I didn’t think too much of it at first, but the next time I looked out I saw that the guy had a piece of wood, about the length of a cricket bat, and he was going crazy.
“I heard him smash windows on the cars and the house. I was scared so I went and phoned the police.
“Five minutes later, I heard a vehicle and saw an ambulance turn up.
“I haven’t been able to sleep - it’s just so horrible and frightening.”
Last night, as two men and two women were being questioned by police in connection with his death, Sarah-Jane Henderson – who has two daughters, believed to be 15 and 18 – was being comforted by relatives at the family home in West Allerdean, near Berwick, Northumberland.
The couple’s neighbour, Eddie Younger, 63, paid tribute to the family man.
He said: “It is tragic. Callum was a good lad. He loved his two daughters very much and would have done anything for them.
“Sarah, his wife, is devastated. The family still have no idea what happened.”
Det Chief Insp Steve Binks, who is leading the investigation, said: “I would like to reassure people that four people are in custody.
“The investigation is ongoing and I would urge anyone who was in the vicinity of Glamis Hill on Friday night or the early hours of Saturday morning to contact police.”
Last night, two men, aged 39 and 21, and two women, aged 22 and 18, were in police custody.
