Geoff Richardson, secretary of the Middlesbrough supporters’ club said: “I like the old 70s style kits with the white band across the middle. The kits from back in the days of Jack Charlton.
“The only kit I have really disliked of ours was the black and blue stripe. I think the black stripes just reminded me too much of Newcastle.”
Andy Smith, of the Darlington supporters club said: “We had a hideous orange strip about 10 years ago. That one was pretty gory.
“The fans seem to like the white and black hooped strips the best.”
Tim Graham of the Carlisle United website CUFC online said: “I actually like the deckchair away shirt, which we first used in about 2006. It was just something unusual, although some fans disagreed with me.
“The worst was a home kit we had in 1994. It was blue with red and white blobs. It looked like someone had had an accident with a marker pen or a paint pot.”
And Pauline McSweenie, secretary of the Hartlepool Supporters Club, said a kit that looked like a supermarket shopping bag was her club’s worst ever.
“It was one of the few kits that wasn’t all striped. It was red at the top and just looked like a Tesco’s bag upside down. Just horrible.”
