PUBLICIST Zahra Moussavi is keen to dispel the myth that women motorists have no sense of direction.
And she has gone a long way towards doing so after winning a national competition run by a motoring organisation.
The RAC launched the competition called My Way last month to encourage people to bypass motorways for more scenic routes and let the drive be part of the adventure.
Motorists were encouraged to upload their alternative routes onto www.rac.co.uk/myway and five winners were chosen.
Zahra, 26, of Sacriston, near Durham, won a Sat-Nav for her route from Durham to Newcastle via Edmondsley.
She first took the detour as a friend lived in the village of Edmondsley, but soon realised it was the perfect escape from all the congested traffic around the Angel of the North.
