Mike Owen, the company’s managing director, said: “Many people will think we are completely mad, but it was actually completely liberating.
“We were sat at a meeting with our bits and bobs out in front of each other, in various states of undress, yet it felt totally normal and natural, and not pervy in any way.
“When you get beyond the ‘clothes off’ part, there was a much more serious side to this . . . and it has bonded us more closely and fundamentally changed the way we work.”
David’s theory is that offices are breeding grounds for power and envy, which are destructive forces in business . . . and his solution is simply to go to work naked, so that everyone is on the same level.
Mike, 40, said: “It wasn’t just about getting your bum out, although it was freaky being sat there on the Friday with no clothes.
“Some people were completely naked, but others kept shoes and socks or underwear on . . . it just depended on how comfortable you felt.
“We spent a week working with the psychologist before going naked on the Friday.
“And on day two a temp was brought in to man the reception. He took off his trench coat and had nothing on underneath it.”
