Britain’s Next Top Model finalist Jade McSorley says she deserved axe

A WANNABE model who lost out on a top contract has said judges were correct to give her the boot.

North beauty Jade McSorley was left devastated when she made it to the final three of TV show Britain’s Next Top Model but failed to go any further.

Jade was one of 20 girls who were in the running to win a lucrative professional modelling contract as part of Living TV’s Britain’s Next Top Model series.

She was completely open with judges that she was recovering from an eating disorder.

And despite winning praise from industry insiders and health experts for her successful efforts to overcome the condition, it was her anorexia which ultimately cost her the top spot.

Judges feared the 21-year-old wouldn’t be able to cope with the physical rigours of such a demanding industry.

And Jade, of Middlesbrough, has said they were right to be concerned.

She said: “The final was filmed months ago.

“At the time I was gutted that I got booted out but looking back on it I think the judges were right to be wary.

“Since then I have put on another stone in weight and I feel much physically stronger.

“Mentally I have been over my eating disorder for a while but it has taken my body a bit longer to catch up.”
