Coast to Coast charity cyclists rewarded

Ruth Hall, tourism, hospitality and visitor services manager at NGC, helped set up the event together with Sunderland City Council.

Ruth said: “It is a great pleasure to be able to host the end celebrations of the first mass C2C cycle challenge with Sunderland City Council at the National Glass Centre.

“It is a fantastic opportunity to see so many keen cyclists in the area raising money for some incredible causes.

“It will not only bring in revenue to the regional tourism industry, but will help put Sunderland at the forefront of cycling routes in Britain.”

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the 140-mile coast-to-coast route, which takes in views of the Northern Lakes and the Pennines, and attracts thousands of cyclists every year.

Those wishing to show their support can visit the NGC from 1pm when the saddle-sore cyclists are expected.
