County Durham woman's cosmetic surgery hell

BLUNDERING cosmetic surgeons left a woman’s face “a complete mess”.

Beverley Binks

To help her feel better about herself Beverley Binks, 43, underwent an eye and jaw lift in March 2005 at Newcastle’s Transform Medical Group (NTMG).

But her appearance was left looking a “mess” after she said she was “butchered” by two cosmetic surgeons.

After a series of botched procedures she was left with her face appearing “too tight”, and too much fat had been removed from underneath her left eye, meaning the skin would not properly connect with her eyeball.

The former wine bar and nightclub owner, of Hetton, County Durham, was awarded an undisclosed sum in compensation after taking legal action against the surgeons who performed the operations.

She said she had lost her livelihood because of what had happened to her and tried to take her life because of the stress.

“The cosmetic surgery has ruined my life and has left me looking a complete mess,” explained Mrs Binks.

“I used to be such a sociable and outgoing person but now I’m like a recluse and hardly ever go out. I’m fine one-to-one but if I go into crowded places I think everyone is looking at me. It’s very upsetting.

“When I first saw people I knew after I’d had the surgery they’d ask me if I’d had a stroke because of the way I looked.

“I have been suicidal and my 25-year marriage nearly ended because of how depressed I have become. My face has been butchered.”
