A YOUNG mum who stabbed another woman after a bitter feud has failed to win a cut in her jail term.
Jaime Lee Robson, of Horton Avenue, Shiremoor, North Tyneside, pleaded guilty at Newcastle Crown Court in February this year to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and was given four years’ detention.
Lawyers have now argued for the 20-year-old’s sentence to be cut, telling top judges that it was “manifestly excessive” because of her tender years.
But Mr Justice Bean, sitting with Lord Justice Goldring and Judge Michael Mettyear QC, said four years couldn’t be faulted, adding that the public were increasingly concerned about knife crime.
He also said that a custodial sentence of “some length” was “inevitable”.
The court heard that there was a history of bad blood between Robson and her victim, Sharon Topping.
The two young women had fallen out years before and bickered every time they saw each other.
