BIG Brother stars Anthony Hutton and Liam McGough were used to tackling tasks as housemates on the reality show.
But the pair achieved the biggest tasks of their lives when they jetted to Africa to help hundreds of young children.
The duo – who knew each other before they appeared on the Channel 4 series – braved poisonous snakes, spiders and wild animals when they spent a week in Kenya as part of a project for the Make a Difference Foundation (MAD).
The Newcastle-based charity arranged for the boys to jet out to Kenya on the adventure of a lifetime . . . and they’ve both come back changed men.
Liam said: “I’ve come back a new man, with a little bit more appreciation for the things I’ve got.
“The foundation have asked me to be their Patron too, so I’m hoping to go back out to Africa and do some more projects.
“Anthony and I just laughed non-stop too. We knew each other before, have friends in common and went to the same school but this was the longest amount of time I spent with him.
“People go on about having it difficult here but if they could see the plight of the people there they wouldn’t be saying that.”
Anthony, winner of Big Brother 6, and Liam, who won £100,000 in Big Brother 8, were supposed to have been joined by their fellow BB pal Ziggy, who also starred in the eighth series of the Channel 4 show, but he had to cancel after falling ill days before the trip.
That left the two County Durham lads to enjoy the adventure of their lives . . . helping to build a new block onto the Karunga Village primary school, exploring the local wildlife and giving football coaching sessions to scores of children.
