They comes with 10 three-inch hat pins which buyers were invited to stab into the fabric dolls. The store then immediately removed the dolls from the shelves after Theresa saw the store manager and pointed out her concerns.
Rebecca Binns, Westgate Store Manager, said: “I was happy to take these off the shelves as we listen to customers’ concerns.
“We got in touch with our buyers and they acted very quickly and got them removed from all of our 25 stores across the UK. We will not be stocking these items again.”
The ones on sale at the ex-Catalogue Shop were smaller and had the vital organs named.
Sam Thompson, ex-Catalogue shop manager, said: “I couldn’t take them off sale without talking to my area manager. But in the circumstances we will be taking these off sale and will be taking advice from our legal department.”
Theresa added: “These dolls should be banned as they are encouraging the idea that violence is a solution. We have too many young people dying from stabbings and we do not need toys encouraging notions that it is okay stab people that you don’t like.”
