Dead dog's ashes dispute

A ROW has broken out over a dead dog’s ashes after he was put down.

Owner Sharon Marsh said she had expected the remains of her collie cross Ben to be returned to her after he was cremated.

But a spokesman for the vets strongly denied a request was made for the ashes to be returned.

Now Sharon has refused to pay a £93.21 bill for putting the dog to sleep.

She said the vets were called when Ben, her companion for 14 years, became ill.

She said: “It was the hardest thing I have had to do. I have had him since he was born, and he has been at my side ever since.

“He was like a baby. He meant everything to me and I can’t imagine life without him. I was too upset at the time to take in what was happening.

“But a friend told them to cremate Ben and asked how long it would take to get his ashes back. He was told two to three weeks.
