However, it is has been widely publicised how viewers haven’t been so generous in their opinions on her judging skills.
The 31-year-old replaced choreographer Arlene Phillips, and some have called into question the extent of her dancing knowledge, yet Alesha told how she has refused to let the furore get her down.
Alesha said: “I was shocked that there wasn’t anything else interesting in the news . . . is that really headline news? I just couldn’t believe it. I think a bit of perspective needs to be put on the whole thing.

In March, Alesha climbed Mt Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief alongside Geordie singer Cheryl Cole, Chris Moyles and a team of other celebrities, raising more than £1m towards helping combat malaria in Tanzania.
But rather than ask her about the achievement, cheeky DJ Wayne asks Alesha: “You were up the mountains for weeks and weeks, how hairy were your legs when you got down?”
She tells him: “The hairs on my legs don’t really grow that much, I could shave my legs and not have to shave them for another week and a half to two weeks. I’m very lucky on the leg area! You’re so cheeky but I love it!”
