SINGING siren Cheryl Cole says her band is Girls Alive and well, silencing rumours they are to split with news of a new contract.
The Geordie singer and X-Factor presenter has revealed the band have signed a three-album deal with Polydor, to add to the five hit studio albums they’ve already recorded with the label.
And Cheryl says she and the girls – Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, and Kimberley Walsh – have perfect Chemistry together and have no intention of going their separate ways.
She said: “We have just signed a new three album contract with our record label so hopefully there will be no jumping ship soon.
“I wouldn’t be doing anything like this X-Factor stuff if I was not a member of Girls Aloud.”
Heaton-born Cheryl, announced the latest deal in a telling chat with DJ Wayne Allen, presenter of Teesside’s radio station TFM’s Wake up with Wayne show.
The 26-year-old also talks about her beloved pet Chihuahuas, her hankering for parmos – the well-known deep-fried local delicacy – her views on her fellow judges Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell and her marriage to England footballer Ashley Cole.
The couple, who married in July 2006, endured a very public separation when a hairdresser claimed to have had a night of passion with Chelsea defender Ashley last year, but the two soon reconciled and she told DJ Wayne how they have become stronger together.
She said: “I just say in life in general there’s ups and downs and you just have to keep fighting on because life is hard.”
