AN INTERNATIONAL death squad hitman has been using a forged North passport, the Sunday Sun can reveal.
A suspected member of an Israeli murder team is believed to have travelled to Dubai to carry out the assassination of an Arab leader, using bogus Tyneside documents.
The case has now escalated into a major international incident.
It is thought agents from the Israeli secret service Mossad carried out the audacious hit on one of the most prominent figures of the Arab group, Hamas Mahmoud al-Mabhouh.
And now the Sunday Sun can reveal one of the main suspects had a Newcastle passport.
Roy Allan Cannon, 62, has been identified by police in Dubai where the killing took place as one of the main suspects.
His fake passport states his place of birth as Newcastle-upon-Tyne and date of birth as May 28, 1947.
The Sunday Sun could only find two Roy Allan Cannons in the North East, but when we visited their homes, both in Greenside, Gateshead, neither were connected to the passport.
