Ad guru marks anniversary of inspirational idea

Since setting up a year ago, the twipple group now has more than 1,600 members from all over the UK, Europe, Australia, Shanghai, North America, Brazil and Canada.

For every 100 who join, a new twipple suggestion is posted on the site.

Twipples include “Treat your cat to a nice piece of fresh fish”, “Call in a radio song request for someone sat near you in the office” and “Clear someone’s path of snow”.

As the group’s founder, Floyd does each and every one, and he receives hundreds of emails from all over the world concerning people’s experiences trying out the various twipples.

The group recently reached its first birthday and to celebrate, an illustrated book has been published collecting together all the best twipples, with 50% of profits going to charity.

Floyd said: “Twipple reaching its first birthday was a big event for me. I wasn’t sure if the idea would catch on.

“My initial aim was to learn more about social media so I could pass my lessons on to clients, but it’s been so rewarding I kept going.

“Unlike many Twitterers, twipple has built a strong virtual community around it.”
