Lou’s father Clive Johnson, a 48-year-old farmer, said: “Of course I worry about it, about him getting hurt, but it’s what he wants to do. He has wrestling on his iPod. He watches it everywhere.”
While Lou wrestles, his father watches from outside the ring.
Clive said: “Since he’s started, he’s had a better attitude. He seems to be more disciplined. He does it in the ring, and he’s done with it.
“I actually went to see someone this week about getting him a ring for the house so he can practise his bumps.”
Lou is being trained by “Heart Throb” Iain Robinson and he is considering putting Lou in a match later this year. It would be his first match in front of a paying crowd
Lou’s first real opponent would almost certainly be an adult, but it’s not something that worries him.
He added: “I might get a bit nervous, but it’s really exciting.
“This is definitely what I want to do. I haven’t even thought about anything else.”
Training sessions run every Thursday with All Action Wrestling between 6.30pm and 9pm, and cost £8 per session.
All trainees should have some level of fitness, and be at least eight-years-old.
