GEORDIE star Donna Air is ready to cook up a storm in the latest culinary reality show . . . she’s practising her skills on her mates Ant and Dec!
Donna is ready to turn up the heat as one of the competitors in Marco’s Kitchen Burnout, ITV’s new cookery contest which sees 12 celebrities battle it out under the supervision of celebrity chef Marco Pierre White.
And the former Byker Grover hopes she’ll cut the mustard on the show – which replaces Hell’s Kitchen – having prepared for the series by cooking for daughter Freya and her fellow Newcastle friends Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.
She said: “I was only nine when I started on Byker Grove with Ant and Dec.
“I spoke to them the other day and said, ‘Right you’ve got to come over for dinner. I’m doing this show with Marco and I’ve got to practise’.
“They’re so great.”
The former Gosforth High School pupil, 30, has already been identified as a “grafter” by Pierre White, who started out in a posh hotel in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, in the 1970s.
Among those donning their chefs’ whites for the show is former newspaper editor Kelvin Mackenzie, astrologer Russell Grant, presenter Carol Smilie, comedians Jason Byrne and Mark Watson and Frank Lampard’s ex Elen Rivas.
