A STUDENT was left with a huge scar following a terrifying stab attack at the hands of Triad gang members.
North man Richard Hirson was only one day into a month-long rugby tour in Singapore when he was stabbed six times during a brawl inside his hotel lobby.
Dazed and covered in blood, the 20-year-old was rushed to hospital where he spent six days in a critical condition.
Last night the Media and Communications student relived the horrific ordeal and urged others to take care while trekking across the globe.
Richard, of Devonshire Place, Jesmond, Newcastle, said: “Four of them started punching me in my stomach after claiming to be members of a Triad gang and starting on my friends.
“I didn’t even see a knife, but when I looked down I was covered in blood, and when I took my shirt off it was full of holes.
“At the time you don’t even realise it’s happening and it just feels like you’re getting punched. They just ran away after, and I was drenched in blood.”
Richard who has two brothers, Leo, 25, a vet, and Archie, 23, a recruitment consultant, who both live in York, had only planned to stay in central Singapore for three days.
