LUCKY pup Jack has been reunited with his happy owner FIVE YEARS after he went missing.
But little Jack’s reappearance spells double trouble for his master Michael Neary.
After the dog disappeared, Michael replaced him with another Jack Russell, who he also called Jack!
Michael, of Ellington, Northumberland, said: “It’s a lovely story isn’t it? “And the two Jacks certainly seem to be getting on very well together, although I’ve had to think about what to shout out when I need to call them.”
He told how the shaggy tale began five years ago, soon after he made a visit to County Sligo in the Republic of Ireland, where he originally comes from.
“I had this little dog and then my dad died, and my brother’s little dog was pining for him, too.
“I thought, because my brother Joe was on the farm, that it would be a lovely place for Jack to live with my brother and his dog and it would help after the death of my father.
“Four months later he went missing, and that was five years ago.
“They searched and searched for him but couldn’t find him, so we gave up in the end.
“After a year I went to the same person I got Jack from, and got another puppy from the same mother – they are lovely little things – and I called him Jack, too.
“Then out of the blue a short while ago I got a call from a centre in Cambridge to say they had my little dog.”
