BRUISING banter and football funnies were the order of the day as the panel show Fighting Talk came to Tyneside.
The comedy sports quiz was broadcast on BBC Radio 5 Live in front of an audience of 1,000 people at The Sage, in Gateshead.
TV presenter Colin Murray hosted the proceedings, alongside South Shields-born former Hull manager Phil Brown, comedian Simon Day, journalist Martin Kelner and commentator John Rawling.
The show sees contestants battling it out to show off their sporting punditry skills and win points, before the top two face off in the final.
Comedy questions from the show included:
Who is the worst celebrity football fan?
What was the most inspiring team talk ever given?
What has been the greatest second coming in sport?
Who has disgraced the Newcastle United shirt the most?
Fans lapped up the action, with riotous applause greeting the answers, and the day was wrapped up with the audience getting the opportunity to quiz the panelists.
