YET another North family have fallen victim to a vomiting bug at a luxury holiday resort where scores have fallen ill.
We told how the Holiday Village Red Sea resort at Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, has been marred by more than 80 complaints from guests who have become ill while staying there.
Many are now taking legal action after returning with serious bacterial infections such as E-coli, as well as severe cases of salmonella.
Now a disabled mum and her family have become the latest sun-seekers to have their dream vacation turn to holiday hell.
Deborah Farmer uses a wheelchair and walking sticks after doctors diagnosed her with fibromyalgia, a chronic condition which causes pain in all her soft tissues, muscles, ligaments, tendons and joints.
She was forced to leave her job as a prison custody officer and spent three years trying to overcome the illness.
After battling through the condition, the 41-year-old shelled out more than £3,000 to take her family away on holiday in 2008.
But Deborah and her daughter Elise Proud, 12, were left confined to their rooms suffering bouts of vomiting and diarrhoea, while putting up with dirty rooms and a lingering smell of sewage.
Her husband, Jason, 38, a technical manager for Formica, was also struck down with the illness and his agony continued for four months after his return, when he suffered blood in his urine. He has since been diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome as a result of E-coli.
The family are now preparing for a courtroom battle to seek compensation from the holiday company.
