A TRANSSEXUAL has demanded an apology after she was ejected from a North pub for trying to use the ladies’ toilets.
Shocked Amy Laverick, who has lived as a woman for a year, was enjoying a night out with a friend at the Dog and Parrot in Newcastle city centre.
But the celebrations turned sour when pub management took offence when she tried to join her pal in the female loos.
The 34-year-old, from North Shields, North Tyneside, was outraged by her treatment when door staff ordered her off the premises on a busy Saturday night.
Amy, who visited the pub regularly, said: “I went in with a friend at about 11pm and we ordered some drinks.
“I went to go to the toilet but a man who said he was the licence holder of the pub stood in front of the door.
“He told me not to go in there. I replied in no uncertain terms that he had no right to stop me using the loo.
“He informed me I was wrong, but I told him I was within my rights and walked into the toilet.”
But when Amy emerged she was asked to leave by a doorman.
She managed to persuade him to allow her to speak to her friend first before the pair were then escorted onto the street.
