TWELVE months ago Angus Moat endured a torture beyond his imagination.
This time last year the 40-year-old had just watched his brother’s death play out live on television.
Today, as he marks the first anniversary of Raoul’s death, Angus told the Sunday Sun of his anguish at not being able to visit his final resting place, in Rothbury, Northumberland, in peace.
“I have a basic human right to mourn my brother,” he said.
“I love Rothbury, and it is always going to be a place I feel closest to Raoul. But it’s always going to be a bittersweet place for me.
“There’s no way I’m able to walk into Rothbury and not be recognised.”
A year ago today gunman Moat’s life came to an end on a rainy riverbank in Rothbury, at the end of a six hour stand-off with armed police.
