A PENSIONER has made an appeal to trace his long-lost children – who he fears he will never see again.
Michael Docherty, 72, is desperately ill, and wants to heal a family rift before it is too late.
It was 1980 when Mr Docherty last had contact with his two sons Michael Francis and Harry William, and one daughter, Margaret Ann.
They lived together in Everstone Gardens, Walker, Newcastle, in the late 1970s.
But the dad lost contact with his children after he and their mother, Esther, divorced.
And now he wants to trace them for an emotional reunion and to make sure they get a share of his will.
Mr Docherty moved to Coventry from his-then South Shields home 16 years ago, but the pensioner, who is suffering from emphysema, severe heart problems and asthma, returned to the North on a last-ditch mission to try to resume his quest.
