THE father of X Factor starlet Perrie Edwards has broken his silence to reveal how he’s bursting with pride for his singer daughter.
As we revealed at the start of the reality pop battle, the South Shields beauty has both her mum and dad to thank for her lyrical genes.
While mum Debbie used to be a soul singer, dad Alex Edwards has been rocking crowds for more than two decades – and he told the Sunday Sun how he has supported the Little Mix siren’s passion for music over the years.
Last night, the Hartlepool dad was cheering his talented daughter on as the group made it to tonight’s final showdown. The girls performed club classic You Got The Love before they were joined on stage by mentor Tulisa.
And speaking exclusively to the Sunday Sun, Alex said: “I don’t think there’s a word to describe how proud I feel about Perrie, but I am proud of all my kids.
“She’s living her dream – and mine.”
Alex and Debbie split up many years ago, but the father and daughter have always remained in close contact. I made sure I saw Perrie just about every week and we have been on holiday many times,” he said.
