Conman love rat stole car from County Durham woman

'Jaime or Jamie Patterson'

THIS love cheat stole his girlfriend’s car while breaking her heart.

The hunt is today on for the smooth-talking conman who befriended a woman online, before conning his way into her life and her home, and then stealing her motor.

The victim, a woman in her 40s, befriended the trickster on an online dating website.

He gave the name Jaime or Jamie Patterson, and within three weeks they were an item and he had been to her house, in Easington, County Durham, and left his belongings there.

On October 26, the love rat offered to give his new partner a lift to work in her car and said he would pick her up at the end of the day.

But when she finished work he was nowhere to be seen.

A spokeswoman for Crimestoppers, which is appealing for help to trace the man, said: “When the caller has finished work he has failed to pick her up and she has not been able to contact him on his mobile phone.

“She had to get a taxi home and as her house keys and car keys were together she could not get into the house so had to smash a window.
