Shocked by Eddy Eat’s vitriol

I READ the Eddy Eats article about the Blue Bell Inn at Crookham, Northumberland, in the Sunday Sun a couple of weeks ago.

I am rather shocked that the paper published such a damning article about a well-run establishment.

I know for a fact that their produce is of the highest quality.

“Fatty and gristly” beef seems to be highly unlikely. The beef is from a local butcher in Norham and is extremely high-quality meat.

It does appear that the day was not to Eddy’s liking — slow service and chicken not sufficiently cooked — but I have read other articles written by Eddy where things were less than perfect which did not get the vitriolic treatment he meted out to the Bluebell. Perhaps there is another reason for wanting to criticise the owners of this pub? — CHRIS BROWN, by email.

Eddy’s reviews are always impartial and honest and he was particularly disappointed with his return to the Bluebell Inn after previously having had a satisfying experience and, accordingly, given it a very favourable review on that occasion.
