War book search

IS anyone aware of a book written by Anthony Quayle the actor on his World War Two experiences in Northumberland?

Many years ago I delivered to a factory at Red Row, near Amble, and got chatting about Acklington Airfield, a couple of miles away. The lady I was talking to informed me that her grandfather was Anthony Quayle’s right-hand man while he was stationed in the North. Quayle was in charge of defensive fortifications in the area, including a number of tunnels. He wrote a book on his experiences but his name is not recognised as the author.

Quayle gave a copy of the book to the lady’s grandfather. I have just about given up my search for this book so if any of your readers could help me I would be very grateful — DAVID ELGY, 2 Rue des Vignes, Ripere, 79600, Louin, France.
