MIDDLESBROUGH have been boosted by their Magnificent Seven – as the Teessiders’ new signings are a bunch of loudmouths!
Gordon Strachan recruited strikers Scott McDonald, Chris Killen and Lee Miller, midfielders Barry Robson and Willo Flood and defenders Stephen McManus and Kyle Naughton during January’s transfer window, the latter two on loan.
And Justin Hoyte insists an at-times previously quiet dressing room has benefited from the new-boys’ experience – and volume!
“The new players have come in and gelled very quickly, it feels like they have been here for a bit,” Hoyte said.
“There are a few more voices in the dressing room, at times it was quiet, but now there is more than one leader in the team. They bring a different mentality to the team and they bring experience as well.”
Hoyte himself enjoyed a new experience when fielded in midfield at Ipswich Town, and believes his attitude – ‘get on with it’, basically – is one Boro must adopt if they are to make the Championship play-offs.
