King's Lynn 59, Redcar 33

King's Lynn co-promoter Buster Chapman praised Redcar's riders last night for getting on with the second leg of their Knockout Cup quarter-final despite the misty and rainy weather.

But that gave the cup holders even more of a home track advantage around the Norfolk Arena, with the Bears collecting just three chequered flags as the Stars moved comfortably into the semi-final following last Thursday's drawn first leg.

Redcar skipper Gary Havelock defeated both Tomas Topinka and Paul Lee to capture heat 13 and Mat Tresarrieu was the Bears' other race winner.

Tonight, Redcar are favourites at home in the Premier League against Stoke (7.30) though the Potters have signed a promising young Danish rider, Claus Vissing.

King's lynn stars: Tomas Topinka 13, Chris Mills 5, Daniel Nermark 14, Trevor Harding 7, Paul Lee 9, James Brundle 8, Shane Waldron 3.

REDCAR BEARS: Gary Havelock 13, Mat Tresarrieu 4, James Grieves 7, Arlo Bugeja 1, Chris Kerr 4, Karlis Ezergailis 3, Rusty Hodgson 1.
