Speedway: Berwick 52 Sheffield 41

BERWICK Bandits last night held on to the top spot in the Premier League as they recorded their third win in a row with victory over Sheffield Tigers at Shielfield Park.

Berwick were in front from the start and although the Tigers, the pre-season title favourites, closed the gap with a victorious tactical substitution, they clinched it with maximum points from two of the last three races.

The Bandits stars were Adrian Rymel and Michal Makovsky who scored 27 points between them.
