Speedway: Workington 60 Glasgow 32

WORKINGTON Comets still have an outside chance of reaching the Premier Trophy semi-finals.

But they need Glasgow, the team they knocked out of the competition, to do them a favour with a big home win over Edinburgh next Sunday.

Skipper Kauko Nieminen led the way with a 15-point five ride for maximum while Daniel Nermark, the top rider in the Premier Trophy so far, weighed in with 13.

Glasgow were not far off the pace in each race but with nobody in double figures they were short of a genuine third heat leader.

WORKINGTON: D Nermark 13; S Smith 6; K Nieminen 15; C Wright 5; C Stonehewer 9; J Haines 8; J Branney 4.
