Toon star targets League and Cup glory bid

CONFIDENT going into tomorrow’s six-pointer against West Brom, Steven Taylor believes next Saturday’s FA Cup clash with the Baggies can be a springboard to Wembley glory.

With a couple of Premier League big guns already by the wayside, the Newcastle defender is genuinely excited by the Magpies’ knock-out prospects.

Few at St James’ Park deny that three points tomorrow is more important than a place in the Cup fifth round.

But Taylor – reared on ageing tales of the Magpies’ Wembley heroics – said: “Can we win the FA Cup? Why not?

“Liverpool are out, Manchester United are out, a few other Premier League clubs are out.
