Fans back boss

More than two-thirds of Newcastle fans are happy with Sam Allardyce's appointment as manager.

In a poll conducted by the Sunday Sun, 67.38 per cent of supporters said they wanted Big Sam on board.

Previous surveys have suggested that the Magpies' move for Allardyce was less than popular on Tyneside.

But the 600-plus people questioned by us gave Big Sam a clear thumbs-up, hinting that the Geordie faithful are warming to his arrival.

YES: 409 votes (67.38 per cent)
NO: 198 votes (32.62 per cent)
