Luque's finally set to score

Newcastle misfit Albert Luque is finally set to score . . . against former club Deportivo La Coruna.

The Spanish striker - preparing to begin a season-long loan spell at PSV Eindhoven - has lodged a civil court claim for 2.1 million Euros (£1.4 million) against Deportivo.

Luque insists he is owed the money from the transfer fee paid by United for him in August 2005.

Spanish football regulations entitle players to a 15 per cent cut of any deal involving them - unless an alternative agreement is reached between them and the selling club.

But Luque maintains he has not seen a penny of the money paid by the Magpies to take him to Tyneside.

"The Deportivo president, Augusto Cesar Lendoiro, told me the transfer was 14 million Euros, so I have the right to 2.1 million Euros," said Luque.

"I have tried to contact Lendoiro many times about this, but it was impossible. In August 2006, I sent a fax to the club claiming my money, and never had an answer."
