Duscher — a free agent after reaching the end of his contract at Deportivo La Coruna — is now expected to join Racing Santander.
The 28-year-old — who came close to signing for Newcastle in a big-money move in 2005 — clearly lacked fitness during a two-day spell on Tyneside.
