HAMILTON booked their place in the third round of the CIS Cup at the expense of battling Berwick Rangers at Shielfield Park.

Berwick took the lead in 10 minutes. Gary Wood found Iain Diack with a free-kick and the attack leader fired home.

David Winters headed home from close range for Accies five minutes later and they went in front after 55 minutes through substitute Brian Wake’s strike.

Ten minutes later the Borderers were back on terms when Tom Parratt steered the ball into his own net. But Wake put Accies back in front in 75 minutes after the defence failed to clear their lines.
