Reflecting on his brush with Argentina international and £10million defender Coloccini, he said: “That’s just part of football and there were no hard feelings afterwards.
“Now I just want to look forward to the new season with Huddersfield, where we will be looking to move up to the Championship.”
The 21-year-old added: “It’s great to be playing for such a massive club.
“I am really looking forward to the season starting, we’ve been working hard.”
And for boyhood Toon fan Novak, life is a dream come true for the striker.
He said: “There are a lot of Geordie connections here with the gaffer Lee Clark and Terry Mac.
“It’s really good and they have helped me settle in.
“I am a big Newcastle fan and it’s a dream come true.
“It’s a big thing for me.
“I used to pay money to go and watch Lee Clark and he is unforgettable as a player while Terry was number two to Kevin Keegan, it’s great working with them.
“I’m part of the first-team squad.
“Hopefully if I get the chance to play I can show what I can do, but I will never forget Gateshead and my time there.”
