ONE again mother nature has been dictating the success of our sport. Last weekend proved to be another cold one, with at least one local water starting to solidify as anglers were fishing it!
Pike anglers, of course, just love these conditions, as the pike really start to feed up prior to spawning.
The pike on Esthwaite Water have been very obliging since the ice on the water melted.
Chris Harris had a couple of sessions on the water and his best fish weighed in at 27lb 12ozs. Chris’s best day, however, saw him take eleven fish consisting of a 22lb, a 21lb, two fish of 18lbs, two at 15lbs and five smaller doubles, all Chris’s fish were taking on lures.
Nigel Parker took fish of 24lb 8oz and 22lbs on deadbaits. The same method accounted for a 19lb pike for Sam Towers!
Lookout Lake at the Angel fishery has been giving some good sport with silver fish, proven by Neil Brown who took 32lb 8oz of these during Wednesday’s match.
