GOLF: Kenneth Ferrie’s record- equalling round of 60 in Malaga yesterday is a bonus for the cash strapped Northumberland Junior Golfing Association.
As part of a fund raising exercise, the NJGA have put up for auction an autographed tour bag donated by double Tour winner Ferrie .
Committee man David Beardall, also a former leader of Wallsend Boys Club, said: “Now that Ken is in the record books, I would think the eventual winning bid for the bag is going to be a lot higher.”
To search on www.ebay.co.uk, type ‘TaylorMade golf bag signed by Kenneth Ferrie’. The bag will stay on ebay until 6.15pm on Tuesday.

Mills out of cup
CRICKET: New Zealand bowler Kyle Mills has been ruled out of the rest of the ICC World Cup with injury.

The left-armer has played in 13 one-day internationals for the Black Caps and is expected to join up with the rest of the team today.
China dominate

Chris Mears and Nicholas Robinson could only manage sixth in the men’s 3m synchro final, the hosts taking gold through Qin Kai and Luo Yutong, and it was a similar story in the women’s 10m platform synchro.
