£40,000 for NSPCC

BY the time the last raffle ticket is sold at the Burgham Park Pro-Am on Wednesday, the NSPCC, whose team will include Alan Shearer, will be around £40,000 better off from a series of events the club has put on this season. The Pro-Am will be followed by the PGA North Region Championship, which has a Saturday finish for the first time in almost a quarter of a century. Terry Minett , Burgham’s operations director, said: “The Pro-Am was full two months before the event and around half of the 35 teams were taken by the sponsors, Automatic Retailing, who are great supporters of the club, especially the juniors. Apart from The Rock Pro-Am, this is the best professional field to play in the North-East.” Read
