Durham City 13 Stockport 18

STOCKPORT were deserved winners of this North Two play-off match.

While they were dominant in the first half, City’s defence was excellent against a pacy back division, and all the visitors had to show for it was a drop goal by Tom Eaton.

A penalty by City’s Arnie Stevenson levelled it at half-time, as the hosts came more into the game.

But fine tries by Greg Newton and Eaton, one of which Wroe converted, set Stockport on their way to North One.

Eaton dropped a second goal and, while City retaliated with a good Metcalfe try, which Stevenson converted as City pressed at the end, the visitors were well worth their win.
