Durham City overwhelm Hartlepool Rovers

DURHAM CITY 43 HARTLEPOOL ROVERS 10

DURHAM City completely overwhelmed old County rivals Rovers at Hollow Drift, running in five tries.

City got off to a dream start with tries from their first two attacks through Mark Cammiss and Jeff Roberts, Dan Kyle adding both conversions and then kicking a penalty.

Right on half-time, Phil Hall touched down for Rovers, but Dudley Cortland cancelled this out from the second-half kick-off, Kyle converting.

City’s backs were on fire and Arnie Stevenson then crossed with a penalty try and a Kyle conversion following.

Stuart Smithson then scored City’s sixth try, Kyle converting, before Ian Coulson pulled five consolation points back for well-beaten Rovers.
