ROY KEANE is ready to make another attempt to prise Jonny Evans away from Manchester United.
The Black Cats boss is desperate to bring in another quality centre-back and after seeing a move for Spurs’ Younes Kaboul collapse this week, he will try again to persuade Sir Alex Ferguson to let Evans go.
Northern Ireland international Evans, pictured left, has spent the second half of the last two seasons on loan at Sunderland and Keane would love to bring him back to Wearside.
But Ferguson also rates the 20-year-old highly and would be reluctant to part with him.
Keane has money to spend and could Fergie’s resolve to keep Evans, or ask him to allow the player to spend all next season on loan with the Black Cats.
Celtic’s Bobo Balde is also an option for Keane. Sunderland were interested in Balde in January but the defender’s involvement in the African Nations Cup put paid to any chance of him joining the Wearsiders.
Keane said a fortnight ago that he was not planning a move for Balde this summer . . . but that was before Kaboul opted to turn Sunderland down and stay at Spurs in the hope that Portsmouth would come in for him.
