Keane in French connection

Roy Keane

SUNDERLAND are spying French targets ahead of the January transfer window.

And one player of particular interest could be Paris St Germain goalkeeper Mickaël Landreau.

The Black Cats sent a scout to watch PSG’s recent La Liga game against Toulouse at the Parc des Princes, with a brief to focus on Landreau.

And Roy Keane could consider making a move in January for a player widely rated as France’s best goalkeeper.

Although Keane has every faith in current No 1 Craig Gordon, the form of Marton Fulop during the Scot’s recent injury absence has been a concern.

And the chance to have two top-class keepers competing for the first-team jersey is tempting for the Sunderland boss.

Landreau, 30, has made 11 international appearances and has a reputation as a penalty-saving expert.
