SUNDERLAND are keeping tabs on Birmingham defender Roger Johnson.
Black Cats’ boss Steve Bruce is keen to strengthen his squad over the summer and the 27-year-old centre-back is on his radar.
He is also keen to convert Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha’s loan spell on Wearside into a permanent deal.
But if City refuse to lower the £8m price tag they have put on Onuoha’s head, Bruce is ready to try and prise Scotland right-back Alan Hutton away from Spurs instead.
Hutton had a loan spell at Sunderland last season and is likely to cost less than Onuoha.
