Drivers warned to take extra care

Drivers are being warned to take extra care on the roads as a band of rain is set to make conditions treacherous. Steve Crosthwaite, head of the control centre at the Highways Agency, has issued the alert as there is a danger the sub-zero temperatures expected over the next few days could see black ice begin to form.
